   About the Stone

Made from 500-million-year-old slate, quarried in Burgoynes Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador, your Legacy Stone with your name, birthdate and where you are from will be permanently embedded in a legacy site in communities across Newfoundland and Labrador.

If your roots lie in Newfoundland and Labrador, the provincial flag will grace your stone. If you come from "away" a compass rose symbol will be engraved in your stone.
Each stone will have a special engraving in the bottom right corner highlighting the year your stone was laid.


When you purchase a legacy stone, you will also receive a certificate of validation signed by Downhome Inc. president, Grant Young.



Other Info:
  • The name on the stone should not be more than 22 characters in length (including spaces).
  • The community name should not be more than 26 characters in length (including spaces).
  • Birthdate is optional
