Downhomer has designed a program to help you boost community involvement, raise money to support your activities, and create a lasting legacy for future generations to learn from and enjoy. Now wed like to share it with you and encourage you to include it in your communitys plans. Already, more than 1700 Legacy Stones have been sold and installed in our Legacy Stone Walk in St. Johns, raising $80,000 for charities and community projects sponsored by Downhomer. You can create a beautiful and meaningful tourist attraction while highlighting aspects of your culture and heritage.
Legacy Stones are carved from 500-million-year-old Newfoundland slate and are intended for purchase by Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, expatriates and visitors alike. Each stone is carved with personalized information about the purchaser, including name, place of birth and birth date. Proceeds from the sale of Legacy Stones can be used to support local needs, and these Stones are permanently displayed in a location selected by your community. These features make the Legacy Stoned concept a perfect fit for Come Home Year activities, town celebrations, significant historic celebrations or to create meaningful tourist atttractions.
We invite you to explore how a Legacy Stones project can be delivered in your community. Downhomer will help you make it a reality. Well supply the Stones and ensure they are personalized to fit your purchasers needs. You will select an appropriate site within your community to install the Stones, help promote the sale of Stones, and select the charity or worthy cause in your community to receive the proceeds from the sale of Stones. You can even use the proceeds to defray the costs of special events or celebrations. Downhomer will provide assistance with marketing and promotions for your project.
